A new year’s message
2010 The year of “a man discreet and wise” (Genesis 41:33)
The new international version uses the word discerning instead of discreet for this verse in Genesis 41:33. This year we need to be as “wise as serpents and as harmless as doves.” Joseph was a man, who had endured betrayal by those closest to him, yet his spirit remained receptive to God. He suffered afflictions to his heart and soul, when he finally met his brothers who had betrayed him, he wept bitterly. Every wound to our spirit takes a part we often wish to hide, these wounds are the very essence of who we are destined to be; as we become. They teach us to value that in are isolation whether self imposed or forced: we see a new aspect of our heavenly father we could have only ever imagined existed. As we become overwhelmed with gratitude of His magnitude and our significance “what is man that thou art mindful of him, or the son of man that thou visitest him”.
The love of God corrects and directs our footsteps; we are challenged to walk in unison with our father, in order. God desires a mouldable heart that is pliable to his hand and breathe of life. God requires our attention, to direct us through the traffic of life in His strength. The key of wisdom is freely given to those who petition, sent to Abba our father who wishes to embrace and support. We have been given wisdom to protect and shelter us from unhealthy selections, in a world of options. The platform of indifference in our homes, ministries and world will only lead to growth stunts and ultimate death. The spirit of unity within the body of Christ is essential for His results. The team our more important than individual players for His return.
Humility appears as a distant figure often ignored and somewhat despised. When we become less in our perception, He shines more radiantly to a world of immense darkness. The way we are directed to take: is to esteem our brothers more highly than ourselves, not just the ones we prioritise, it is and will always be God “that bringeth the princes to nothing”, who re arranges to please Himself. Love lavishly, pray with intensity and look to God entirely to be our source for this the year of the visionary.
Father,
Lead us to your face, cover us under your blood,
Torch us in your flame of forgiveness.
Tap on our doors faintly as you sit and dine,
Heal us with your calm.
Fragrant the atmosphere with your kindness,
Show us those, to whom we are called,
Let us knell at your cross of glory,
Amen
